Day 4: September 20, 2023 (More Adventures in Edinburgh)
Isabella & Robin.
Today was a special day, since our classmate Alessandra turned 18!!! Her friends gave her a warm awakening with some homemade pancakes.

This morning, the program was a little different from the usual: we were given the opportunity to roam freely and explore some beautiful destinations in Edinburgh. We split into four groups, two of which visited the botanical garden, where they explored multiple attractions such as the rock garden and three Ginkgo Biloba trees which were a plant tribute to the Hiroshima bombing. Another group hiked up to Arthur‘s Seat, where they enjoyed the astounding view and had some beautiful moments of joy and gratitude, laying in the wind-kissed grass. The fourth group visited Dean Village, where they were captured by its medieval architecture and cosy atmosphere. They were even able to interview a local called Alan, who was happy to tell them all about the place‘s history, such as its origin from a bakery and its eventual expansion.
Right before lunch, we came together and told each other about our adventures. After this we were allowed to spend our day as we pleased until 18:45, when we met again to go have dinner in a heart-warming Italian restaurant. The birthday girls were served cake after the birthday bell was rung and we enjoyed some delightful background music played on a fancy piano by Miro and Robin.
After this thrilling day, we are more than pleased to rest in our warm and comfy beds. See you tomorrow :)
